Recently, the University Union held an evaluation and defense meeting for "Model Faculty and Staff Small Homes" and "Advanced Primary Union Organizations." The Union of the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering was awarded the title of "Advanced Primary Union Organization" for the 2022-2023 academic year. Teachers Dai Hailang and Lu Lizhong were recognized as "Excellent Union Workers," while teachers Su Jie, Xie Yue'e, Gao Jun, and Lü Cuihong were honored as "Union Activity Activists."
Under the correct leadership of the University Union and the College Party Committee, the Union of the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It unites and leads all faculty and staff members, upholding the path of development for trade unions with Chinese characteristics, conscientiously performing the four basic functions of “maintenance, construction, participation, and education,” playing a role as a bridge and link, and mobilizing the broad masses of faculty and staff to take ownership and contribute to the creation of a “double first-class” institution. The College Union was honored with the title of "Model Employee Small Home" in Zhenjiang City in 2022 (the only one in the entire university), won the Grand Prize in the Zhenjiang Education Union Speech Contest, and has ranked fourth in total scores for faculty and staff competitive events at the university sports meet for two consecutive years. It also won third prizes in the university fitness dance, Tai Chi fan, tug-of-war, and Chinese classic recitation competitions.
In the new year, the Union of the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering will unite even more closely around the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. Under the correct leadership of the College Party Committee, it will grasp the timing and momentum of the high-quality development of the college's endeavors, gather the hearts and strengths of the broad masses of faculty and staff, unite in struggle, and assume practical responsibilities. It will strive to open up new horizons in union work and make greater contributions to the creation of a "double first-class" institution and the construction of a distinctive, high-level university.
